Harmonic blocking reactors, together with capacitor arrays, create power factor correction and harmonic current filtering arrays.
This type of reactors is usually manufactured with a magnetic core that can guarantee high linearity values, even with large increases in current compared to the nominal value.

A power factor correction system with detuning, prevents any amplification of harmonic currents and voltages caused by the resonance between the capacitor and the inductive capacitance of the electrical system.

By adding such a properly sized mechanism to the power capacitor, a low resonance circuit (usually below the fifth harmonic current) is formed, which prevents higher order harmonics from flowing into the capacitors and destroying them.
